Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues is gone

I missed this . One of my heroes, Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues has died .He passed on the 4th . He had long been ill, and had long been retired from the still touring group . But it is still sad . He was responsible for the flute work in the band,, and was one of the singers .He often added a light contrast to the other writers songs . He wrote those "triply" kiddie songs ("Floating", "Another Morning") , old fashioned ballades, and music hall songs ("For My Lady","Dr. LivinstonI Presume ""Lazy Day")) and the strange Leery Tribute "Legend of a Mind " . This is one of his best . I would liked to have met him . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHoDlDJ3uto
